Horizon Power has commenced construction of a new modular power station for Onslow and has commenced the tender process.
Recently securing a place in the Australian Financial Review's 50 Most Innovative Companies for the Fault Call Analyser, Horizon Power is developing Australia's largest distributed energy grid and are now looking for services for installation of a 1 MW / 1 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (HP01580) for the Onslow DER Project Stage 2.
Horizon Power’s Onslow Distributed Energy Resource (DER) Project consists of two stages. Stage 1 is currently under construction and includes a modular gas fired power station and associated infrastructure. Stage 2 includes:
- solar farm (HP01579)
- battery energy storage system (HP01580)
Site access was granted to Downer EDI Engineering and Power Pty Ltd for site clearing and establishment on 3 April 2017. All items for the power station and transmission line have been ordered, with equipment scheduled to arrive on site in September 2017.
A detailed options analysis has begun for the deployment of distributed energy resources in the form of batteries and solar. Associated construction activities for these works are scheduled to commence in 2018.
The Request for Tender (RFT) is for the installation of a nominal 1MW / 1MWh Battery Energy Storage System including design, supply, construction and commissioning activities.
A mandatory briefing will be held in Perth on 30 October and the tender closes at 2.00pm (WST) on 20 November 2017.
