Australia's first net zero carbon aged care neighbourhood is now seeking Expressions of Interest for the design and construction of 40 residences.
Breathe at Tumby Bay addresses the dual challenges of anthropogenic climate change and Australia’s aging population and is located in Tumby Bay on the eastern coast of the Eyre Peninsula
South Australia has made headlines worldwide with its push towards net zero emissions by 2050, with Adelaide aiming to be the first carbon neutral city in the world.
Breathe aims to become the template for low carbon communities, and demonstrate the application of a renewable energy micro-grid in a cost effective and responsible manner, demonstrating the potential for future investment into South Australia’s renewable energy assets.
Breathe will be a 40-residence, environmentally-smart neighbourhood at Tumby Bay, designed for people who are not ready to lose their independence.
Submissions are invited from interested parties and consortiums for the design and construction of prefabricated dwellings. Closing date Fri 15th Sept 2017.
Suppliers who submit an expression of interest (EOI) in response to this request may be shortlisted and may be invited to participate in separate limited tender processes.
